It is now official that Morgan Sonderegger will join the linguistics department faculty this coming August. Morgan is completing a joint PhD in Linguistics and Computer Science at the University of Chicago, his dissertation is titled “Phonetic and phonological dynamics: Case studies and methods”. Morgan’s research focuses on the dynamics of phonetic and phonological patterns over time, both within individuals and within a speech community, using a range of computational, statistical, and experimental methods.
