Hello everyone!
SLUM is hosting its annual McCCLU (McGill Canadian Conference for Linguistics Undergrads) March 9th to 11th. This is a great chance to come out and hear about what linguistic undergrads have been working on, as well as hearing presentations from our keynote speakers, Dr. Luis Alonso-Ovalle and Dr. Jessica Coon! Students from universities across Canada and the US will be presenting their research, and we would love for you to attend the conference.
Dr. Alonso-Ovalle will be presenting Friday evening, in Arts Room 160 at 6:15. A reception will follow. Undergraduate presentations will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Centre Pierre-Péladeau de l’UQAM (300 Boulevard de Maisonneuve East) from 10:00 to 17:00, and 10:00 to 13:00, respectively. Breakfast is included both mornings, and the cost of registration is $10. Dr. Jessica Coon will be closing the conference with a presentation at 12:15 Sunday.
Here is a quick breakdown of events. Please visit the McCCLU website for the full program of speakers and titles. A PDF program can also be downloaded here. Feel free to come to just a few of the events, or join us for the entire time!
