Current PhD student Alyona Belikova recently presented two papers at the Interdisciplinary Approaches to Multilingualism conference (IAM 2013), held at the University of Calgary in August. She gave a solo-authored talk titled “Effects of Linguistically Misleading Instruction: The Case of Se”, as well as a collaborative talk with Tanja Kupisch, Deniz Akpinar, Öner Özçelik, Ilse Stangen and Lydia White, called “Definiteness Effect in Adult German-Turkish Bilinguals.”

Alyona will be defending her dissertation this fall and will be working this year as a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary. Congrats Alyona!
